‘Copy, get caught, blame staff’: Omar Abdullah mocks Galgotias University for China’s RoboDog News Today

February 19, 2026

Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah showcased a Chinese-made robotic dog as his own invention at Galgotia University. While Galgotias University apologized, saying that Professor Neha Singh, who introduced RoboDog, was “misinformed” about the technical origins of the product, Omar Abdullah appeared to back her up, accusing the university of putting the blame on the professor for its own mistake.

Posting on X, Omar Abdullah said: “So this is what Galgotias teaches his students by example – copy someone else’s work and claim it as your own. When you get caught, you don’t confess and apologize, instead you 6 and 9 apologize.”

“When it doesn’t work, you throw employees under the bus and blame them for everything to save your own skin. Thank God, that wasn’t the education I received,” he continued.

The J&K Chief Minister referred to a statement by the university saying that Professor Neha Singh in her “excitement to be in front of the camera” had given “factually incorrect information”. The Greater Noida-based university said Neha Singh was not authorized to speak.

Galgotias University said: “We at Galgotias University would like to deeply apologize for the confusion caused at the recent Al Summit. One of our representatives manning the pavilion was misinformed. She was unaware of the technical origins of the product and in her excitement to be on camera gave factually incorrect information even though she was not authorized to speak to the press.”

What did Neha Singh say after the controversy?

Introducing RoboDog as “Orion”, Professor Neha Singh said that “it was developed by the Center of Excellence at Galgotias University”.

When the controversy erupted, Neha Singh was questioned about the huge row and said, “There was a row because things may not have been clearly expressed and the intention may not have been properly understood.”

Ending it as a “misinterpretation” of the words she used, she said: “Your 6 could be my 9. I may not have been able to express what I want to say very well – either because of lack of time or because of the noise and commotion around us, maybe you didn’t give it enough patience.

In another post, Omar Abdullah said: “Your 6 is my 9. I have to remember to use it somewhere 😀”

Meanwhile, Neha Singh’s LinkedIn profile now shows that she is “open to work”.
