A. Suresh’s old fb post flaying Satheesan resurfaces

February 18, 2026

An old Facebook post by A Suresh, former personal assistant of the late Communist leader and former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, criticizing Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan has resurfaced and is being discussed after Mr. Suresh attended Mr. Satheesan’s Puthuyuga Yatra in Palakkad on Tuesday.

In a post dated July 11, 2022, Mr. Suresh came down heavily on Mr. Satheesan for criticizing Achuthanandan for his alleged involvement in a program linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He also took a dig at Mr Satheesan for lighting a lamp in front of the portrait of RSS ideologue MS Golwalkar and remarked that he need not call Achuthanandan to defend his act.

Mr. Suresh further wrote that Achuthanandan, as a communist, did not belong to what he described as the Congress tradition of publicly denouncing the RSS and maintaining covert contacts with it during elections.

The post clarified that Achuthanandan attended a book release on Swami Vivekananda edited by P. Parameswaran and organized by Bharatiya Vichara Kendra at Hasan Marakkar Hall in Thiruvananthapuram on March 13, 2013. According to Mr. Suresh, the communist leader attended the event at the special request of Sugathakumari.

Mr. Suresh also pointed out that Achuthanandan’s speech at the event strongly criticized what he described as attempts by the RSS to appropriate Vivekananda and exposed the organisation’s communal agenda.

The post ended by saying that the Leader of the Opposition should at least acknowledge that a communist like Achuthanandan cannot ally himself with Golwalkar, who has labeled communists as internal enemies and anti-national.
