The resignation of Tony Clark, the longtime executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), has drawn widespread attention not only to professional baseball’s labor relations, but also to the former player’s personal life.
Clark resigned Tuesday following reports of an alleged inappropriate relationship with a family member who worked in the players’ union. While neither Clark nor the MLBPA have publicly commented on the claims, the episode has placed his family under renewed public scrutiny.
Clark, married for decades and largely private about his home life, shares three children with his wife, Frances. As investigations into MLBPA’s internal affairs continue, the interest of those closest to the former union boss is growing.

The allegations emerge during a wider investigation
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passano, the MLBPA was preparing to launch an internal investigation after allegations surfaced of an inappropriate relationship between Clark and his sister-in-law, who has reportedly been employed by the union since 2021.
The woman has not been publicly identified. Media reports state that Clark has one brother, Greg Clark, but no other details have been officially confirmed. The allegations reportedly came to light during a broader federal investigation looking into the MLBPA’s finances and related business ventures.
Federal prosecutors, including the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, are investigating possible financial irregularities involving the union and related licensing entities. Passan said the personal allegations against Clark emerged during this broader investigation.
No criminal charges related to the alleged relationship have yet been announced, and Clark has not publicly responded.

Who is Tony Clark’s wife Frances?
Tony Clark has been married to Frances Clark for several decades, although the couple has never disclosed details of their marriage or early married life. Frances remained largely out of the public eye during Clark’s baseball career and the years he led the MLBPA.
According to previous reports, Frances and the couple’s children moved from New York to Phoenix around 2020. It is unclear whether Clark, whose work has kept him largely on the US East Coast, moved with them or maintained a separate residence.
All about their three children
The Clarks have three children: daughters Kiara and Jazzin and son Aeneas. Kiara was born on September 20, 1994, Jazzin on September 15, 1997 and Aeneas on March 7, 2002.

While the children have generally stayed out of the public eye, reports in recent years have raised questions about possible nepotism after claims emerged that at least one of Clark’s daughters had professional ties to the MLBPA. These allegations were never formally investigated and the union did not issue a public response.
The family is silent
Neither Frances Clark nor the couple’s children have commented on the allegations or Tony Clark’s resignation. The MLBPA also declined to address questions about Clark’s family, instead focusing on management continuity as it prepares for a potentially contentious round of labor negotiations.
Tony Clark Background and Net Worth
Clark joined the MLBPA in 2010 after a 15-year career in Major League Baseball and became executive director in 2013 following the death of Michael Weiner. His family includes his wife Frances, their son, and brother Greg Clark, a former college basketball player.
