India AI Impact Summit: Bihar Govt signs MoU for ₹468 crore investment – details here | Today’s news

The Government of Bihar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 468 crore with several major technology companies and IIT Patna at India’s AI Impact Summit, which began in Delhi on Monday. The projects also include a research park, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.

The government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar signed the MoU 60 crore to set up Bihar AI CoE (Centre of Excellence). The value of the memorandum of understanding 250 crore has been signed for setting up a research park at IIT Patna. Tiger Analytics will be the industrial partner and IIT Patna will be the academic partner, according to the statement.

In addition, MoUs were signed with GCC units and IT units such as Red Cyber ​​( 103 million), GrowQR ( 30 million) and CIPL ( 25 crore), under Bihar GCC policy 2026 and Bihar IT policy 2024, among others, the statement said

The move is expected to create more than 10,000 new jobs in emerging technologies, according to the statement. In addition, more than 50,000 young people are receiving skills development training through AI-related programs.

The five-day India AI Impact Summit is attended by CEOs from over 100 technology companies and representatives from over 135 countries. In addition, heads of state from more than 20 countries and ministers from more than 50 countries are also participating in the summit.

On Tuesday, February 17, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the Bihar State Pavilion at the India Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit. Panchayati Raj Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.

“We want to move forward in every sector in Bihar – be it agriculture, education or use of new technologies that are emerging in the world. By embracing these advancements, we are trying to move Bihar forward,” Choudhary said on the sidelines of the event.

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh said the country will lead the world in AI technology.

“Bihar is like an open field where any technology can be introduced today.The MoU costs approx 500 million crowns were signed. Different technologies are coming. Bihar government has made policies to create various industries and now these policies will start yielding benefits. As a result, technological growth will accelerate,” he added.
