Rajpal Yadav leaves Tihar Jail after securing bail in check bounce case, vows to deal with charges | Today’s news

February 17, 2026

Actor Rajpal Yadav has been released from Tihar Jail after he was granted interim bail in a check bounce case by the Delhi High Court. In his first remarks as he came out of jail, Rajpal Yadav, surrounded by reporters and supporters, vowed to resolve all allegations against him.

Rajpal Yadav said, “I will complete 30 years in Bollywood in Mumbai in 2027. People from all over the country, children, old and young are with me… As the whole country and the world, my Bollywood, loved me, if there are any allegations against me, I am available to answer. Thank you Supreme Court.”

A Karkardooma court in Delhi earlier in the day issued a release order to Rajpal Yadav from Tihar Jail, his lawyer informed. The actor was granted interim bail by the High Court in the check bounce case.

On Monday, the Delhi High Court temporarily stayed Rajpal Yadav’s sentence till March 18. Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma ordered him to provide personal bond 1 lakh along with a guarantee of the same amount.

While hearing Rajpal Yadav’s check bounce case and considering the relief, the court observed that 1.5 million crowns were deposited into the respondent’s bank account. The court then ordered suspension of the actor’s sentence on the condition that Yadav provides a personal bond 1 lakh along with one guarantee of the same amount.

He will remain out of custody until March 18, when the court is due to hear the matter again. This comes after counsel for private company M/S Murli Project, Advocate Avneet Singh Sikka, confirmed that Yadav had imposed 1.5 million to the bank accounts of the company against the amount of the bounced cheque.

Earlier, Yadav’s counsel, Adv. Bhaskar Upadhyay, offered for saving 1.5 million unconditionally through Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR). However, Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma directed that the payment be made through Demand Draft (DD).

In earlier hearings, the court also raped Rajpal Yadav saying he was in jail for defaulting on his bond.

Judge Swarana Kanta Sharma said: “You didn’t go to jail because the court gave an order. You went to jail because you failed to honor your own obligations to the court. You didn’t give money because the court asked you to, you gave money because you made a deal.”
