Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (ICC Photo) India’s teenage batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi skipped his Class 10 board exams this year as cricketing commitments continue to take priority in his fast-growing career. The CBSE Class 10 exams began on February 17 and will run till March 11, but the youngster was absent on the opening day despite completing all the formalities.According to the school authorities, Vaibhav’s examination form has been submitted and his admit card has been duly issued. His assigned center was Poddar International School. However, he did not report to the newspaper.

Principal of Poddar International School NK Sinha confirmed his absence: “Vaibhav Suryavanshi is not present today. He did not come to the exam center. We have marked him as absent as per CBSE policy. If a student is not present for the exam, he must be recorded as absent. He is expected to attend the exam but he has other duties as well. Yes, he can practice the match again.”Vaibhav’s absence comes at a time when he is enjoying a purple spot with a bat. In the recently concluded U-19 World Cup 2026, he emerged as India’s best run-scorer and second-highest overall scorer. He amassed 439 runs in seven innings at an impressive average of 62.71 and a lightning rate of 169.50, including one century and three fifties.He ended the tournament in style, smashing 175 off just 80 balls in the final, an innings studded with 15 fours and 15 sixes. The knock earned him both Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.Vaibhav is now all set to represent Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026 under Riyan Parag. Last season, he scored 252 runs in seven matches, including a breathtaking 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans.
