The late Padma Shri awardee’s wife has been given permanent employment at The Nilgiris

The wife of late Padma Shri awardee R. Krishnan, an Adivasi artist from Kotagiri, has been given permanent employment at a tribal residential school in the Nilgiris, while the district administration has also provided education for his four children.

In a press release, the district administration said that Mr. Krishnan’s wife, Suseela, has been ordered to be appointed as the permanent gardener at Eklavya Model Residential School at Muthorai Palada in the Nilgiris.

The appointment order was arranged as per Chief Minister MKStalin’s orders, with Ms Suseela receiving a monthly salary of ₹32,000. She will also be entitled to salary increment, leave benefits and other allowances applicable to government employees, while she will be provided with government premises on campus.

Mr. Krishnan’s eldest daughter has also been granted admission to a private college in Udhagamandalam with a hostel and will be provided with free education until she completes her degree. His three youngest children were also enrolled in the Model Residential School at Muthorai Palada, it was reported.
