Nearly 15 vehicles parked at the Pangode police station were damaged in a fire that broke out in the station premises on Monday.
The incident happened around 8:15 am. The fire is said to have started when cleaning staff were burning waste materials in the premises. The flames quickly spread to nearby parked vehicles.
Most of the damaged vehicles were crashed or seized in connection with thefts and were kept in the station yard. Firefighters and police brought the fire under control. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
