
Paytm chief Vijay Shekhar Sharma met Dario Amodei, head of AI research firm Anthropic, on Monday and expressed his gratitude for what he described as “candid conversations”.
“With the man who built the fastest growing company ever! Thanks to Dario Amodei for the candid conversations,” Sharma wrote in an X (formerly Twitter) post along with sharing a picture of the two business leaders.
The meeting comes as Anthropic opened its first office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, as the company looks to partner with Air India, educational nonprofit Pratham, among others, amid a broader push for AI.
Both Sharma and Amodei attended the Global AI Summit held in New Delhi on Monday, February 16. The event brought together leaders from various fields, including heads of state, senior ministers, global technology executives, researchers and startup founders.
AI Summit — All about the event
The Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence will be held from February 16 to February 20, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo 2026 on February 16 at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
Many world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Lula da Silva, are set to attend the AI Impact Summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi.
Held in 10 arenas spanning over 70,000 square meters, the Expo will host global technology companies, startups, academia, research institutions, line ministries, state governments and international partners.
Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma to speak at the AI Summit on February 20. The event is called ‘Agent Universe: From Automation to Autonomy’, where he will talk about the shift in software from passive tools to autonomous, goal-driven agents and other related topics.
Meanwhile, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei along with Infosys co-founder and chairman Nandan Nilekani will also meet on February 19. The session was billed as a “fireside chat” on the official website.
During the summit, 13 country pavilions will highlight international cooperation in the artificial intelligence ecosystem, including participation from Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and African countries.
