Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Sunny Joseph has said that the Congress and the United Democratic Front (UDF) will soon release their first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday after an unofficial meeting of Congress leaders, Mr. Joseph hinted that senior Congress leader K. Muralidharan may be in the fray.
The party will have to look for a new candidate in the Thripunithura Assembly constituency as sitting MLA and former Minister K. Babu has opted out of the race.
Asked if he would contest this time, Mr. Joseph said there was a lot of interest in his candidacy. “If the party high command insists that I should fight, I will be there,” he said.
