Starting today, India is launching the Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit 2026 at the Bharat Mandapam with the theme ‘Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the inaugural India AI Impact Expo 2026 at the Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. The government has urged those attending Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan to opt for public transport due to limited parking and updated gate access.

Please plan your arrival according to the updated entry protocols and cooperate with security personnel to ensure the event runs smoothly,” the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said.

Held from February 16 to 20 in conjunction with the India AI Impact Summit, the India AI Impact Expo 2026 is set to be a national platform to showcase the practical applications of artificial intelligence. It aims to unite policy makers, innovators and big implementers under one roof. Spread across 10 arenas spanning over 70,000 square meters, the Expo will showcase global technology companies, startups, academic and research institutions, line ministries, state governments and international partners.

Thirteen country pavilions will showcase global AI collaboration with participants from Australia, Japan, Russia, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and various African countries.

Over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations will be arranged in three themed ‘chakras’ – People, Planet and Progress, showcasing the broad impact of AI across sectors.

More than 600 high-potential startups are expected to participate in the fair, many of which are already delivering AI solutions with global relevance and large-scale real-world applications.

Traffic and subway status today

Traffic is expected to be restricted or regulated on several major roads in New Delhi and surrounding areas, including Mathura Road, Sardar Patel Marg, Janpath, Akbar Road and Shanti Path, among others.

Temporary restrictions may also be imposed on Bhairon Marg and sections of Mathura Road during summit-related movements, with alternative routes and corridors designed to ensure smooth flow for normal traffic.

The Metro will continue to operate as usual, although buses and taxis may be diverted during VIP transfers. Authorities advised commuters to plan their journeys ahead, allow more time during peak hours and stay updated through official alerts and social media. Essential services, including emergency medical vehicles, will retain 24/7 access across the city.

Meanwhile, the event is expected to attract more than 2.5 million visitors, including international delegates, to create opportunities for global partnerships and business growth within the AI ​​ecosystem. In addition, the Expo will host more than 500 sessions with more than 3,250 speakers and panelists.

Marking the first international AI summit held in the Global South, the Impact Summit will highlight New Delhi’s vision for an AI future that is inclusive, responsible and impactful.

As part of the IndiaAI mission, India will showcase 12 indigenous foundation models developed by domestic startups and consortia. These models are trained on India’s vast datasets and are customized to support the country’s 22 official languages.
