Andhra Pradesh BJP president PVN Madhav on Sunday (February 15) described the state budget 2026-27 as progressive and forward-looking and a clear blueprint for the development of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a teleconference with state BJP spokespersons and media panelists, Mr. Madhav said the budget presented by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav was built on three core principles – wealth creation, development and welfare. He directed party officials to effectively communicate the common vision of the central and state budgets to the public.
Highlighting the key features, he said the budget proposes a record expenditure of ₹3.32 crore with an ambitious growth target of 11.25%. He described the move to limit the revenue deficit to 1.86% as a sign of fiscal discipline.
Mr. Madhav attributed the impetus to what he called the “twin-engine” model of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. With the Centre’s full support, he said, the Budget lays the foundation for building ‘Viksit Andhra Pradesh’ contributing to ‘Viksit Bharat’.
On industrial growth, he said the budget aims to attract nearly $15 billion (₹1.35 crore) in investment, including a tie-up with global tech major Google. He also noted efforts to advance projects such as Semiconductor Mission 2.0 and the Rare Earth Corridor.
Mr. Madhav pointed out that a comprehensive plan of ₹ 30,000 crore has been prepared to transform Rayalaseema into a global horticulture hub. He also described the creation of AP Wealth Fund as an innovative step to ensure long-term development and serving as a seed corpus for future investments.
Stating that social welfare programs like NTR Bharosa, Annapurna Canteens and free power for farmers continued, he said the government also prioritized infrastructure, education and healthcare.
He urged party leaders to widely publicize the achievements of the “twin engine government” through social and mainstream media platforms, stressing that the budget was not only about numbers but about shaping the future of the state.
