‘Alas!’ What Shashi Tharoor had to say about his performance at Harvard and Priyanka Chopra | Today’s news

February 15, 2026

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor jokingly responded to a post about him and actress Priyance Chopra speaking at the India Conference 2026 at Harvard University in the US.

India Conference 2026 is an annual global event focused on Indian business, politics and culture, serving as a student-led platform to explore India’s rich diversity and highlight its emergence as a major global power.

This year’s conference was held on February 14 and 15 and featured notable speakers including Thiruvananthapuram MP, actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra and Mahima Kaul, Head of Global Affairs, Netflix India.

Responding to a post that mentioned the Congress leader and Priyanka as speakers, Tharoor quipped that he missed the chance to share the stage with her at the event.

“But not together, unfortunately!” said on X.

Social media users react

Tharoor’s remark on social media sparked a flurry of witty replies and memes in the comments section.

One user wrote, “Even Harvard’s schedule couldn’t handle that much charisma in one frame. The structural integrity of the stage simply wouldn’t survive the combined performance.”

Another user said: “OMG! That would be next level…”

The user wrote, “Shashi Tharoor’s greatest tweet ever.”

Another commented, “Only you can make that observation.”
