The win marked West Indies’ third straight win in Group C, ensuring they finished top of the table and bringing strong momentum into the next round. Their chase was clinical, conceding just one wicket and never looking under pressure.
Earlier in the match, Nepal struggled to post a competitive total after putting into bat. Dipendra Singh Airee was the only batsman to make a significant contribution as he scored a fighting 58 off 47 balls. Sompal Kami chipped in with an unbeaten 26 but the rest of the line-up failed to build a partnership which saw Nepal finish at 133 for 8 in their 20 overs.
Jason Holder led the West Indies bowling attack with an excellent spell of 4 for 27, destroying Nepal’s middle order and restricting their scoring. Four other West Indies bowlers also claimed one wicket each, highlighting a strong collective bowling effort.
It was a dominant display from the West Indies who now move confidently into the Super 8s after a faultless campaign in the group stage.
