Harbhajan Singh slammed Mohammad Amir for calling Abhishek Sharma a slogger and sent a warning that if the Indian opener gets going, he will come back to haunt Pakistan again during the IND vs PAK clash on Sunday, February 15. Amir recently talked about Abhishek during a talk showhe said the southpaw wasn’t technically a right batter and could easily have been dismissed with sound pitches.
Temper received backlash for the comments, but stood by his assessment and said so Abhishek doesn’t know how to defend the ball and claimed that the Indian opener was yet to be tested. During an interview with Sports Tak’s Vikrant Gupta on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan said that Abhishek is a proper batsman who can play every shot in the book.

“I mean – what can I say to that? He’ll just get up and say anything. If you call him a slogger, fine, let him smash sixes – but he’s a proper batsman who’s got every shot in the book. He’s a complete batsman who knows exactly where the ball is coming and plays accordingly. He plays the cover shot, he can hit long accurate point, off a long ball. that, you can’t just call him a midget,” he said Harbhajan.
The former India spinner refrained from taking the debate further, saying that Abhishek has proved his worth in world cricket. However, he ended his comment with a warning to Pakistan that if Abhishek reaches Colombo, he can take the game away from them.
“If I start naming real sloggers, some people might get offended but I don’t want to create more drama. Still, to call someone just a slogger – I don’t think it’s fair. Abhishek is a top-class batsman who has proved his worth in world cricket.”
“And just wait and watch tomorrow. If Abhishek stays at the crease, he will remind everyone who he is. He was already in your dreams for the last 4-5 months. If he grows up tomorrow, then for the next six months he will be in your dreams again. That’s it,” Harbhajan said.
Harbhajan Singh and Vikrant Gupta owned up to Mohammad Amir after his statement about Abhishek Sharma:-
