Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) to implement a CSR funded project titled “Establishment of Central Academic Block at Cusat”.
The agreement follows the approval of the university syndicate to strengthen the university’s academic infrastructure. The MoA was signed by Arun AU, Registrar, in the presence of M. Junaid Bushiri, Vice-Chancellor, according to the statement.
In the first phase, a central academic block will be set up at a cost of ₹ 1.01 crore, which will be supported through CSR MDL funding. The total estimated cost of the project is ₹2.73 crore. The project is expected to be completed in 18 months. The central academic block will serve as a skill development hub for students, it said.
