10 jailed for drunk driving in Vijayawada

The court awarded two days in prison to 10 people who were accused of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The traffic police conducted a special drive at various intersections in Vijayawada and registered cases against 57 vehicle drivers for drunken driving, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-Traffic) Shareen Begum said on Wednesday.

The court awarded two days in jail to 10 persons and imposed a fine of ₹4.75 million on the remaining accused, the DCP said.
