Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha is hopeful that T20I world number one Abhishek Sharma will feature in the high-voltage Group A clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 between India and Pakistan. The Archrivalis will meet in Match #27 on Sunday (February 15) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Abhishek, who won the Asia Cup 2025 player of the tournament award, missed India’s second Group A match against Namibia in Delhi on Thursday (February 12) due to a stomach problem. The left-handed batsman from Amritsar is yet to be declared fit for the India-Pakistan clash, with a final decision expected just before the match.
“I hope Abhishek Sharma will play tomorrow. I hope he recovers well. We want to play against the best,” Agha said.
