The Palarivattom police have arrested 10 people, including family members, for allegedly assaulting two IT employees at Chalikkavattom in the city following a dispute over car parking.
The case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Vijayakumar Krishnapilla of Thakkala, Kanyakumari and Ajayan of Coimbatore, who were staying in a rented house in Chalikkavattom.
They were allegedly attacked by Siyad, a neighbor, and his family members and friends. The First Information Report (FIR) named Siyad, his wife, his brother-in-law and seven others. The incident occurred on Wednesday (February 11, 2026) around 11:00 p.m. The tenth accused Binu allegedly barged into the complainants’ house on Thursday (February 12, 2026) morning and threatened them with death, the FIR said.
The defendants were charged with, among other things, intentional bodily harm.
