Devotees thronged the Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple on Friday (February 13, 2026) to take part in colorful processions organized as part of the ongoing Brahmotsavams.

The deities of Sri Somaskanda Murthy were placed atop the ‘Vyaghra Vahanam’ resembling a tiger and taken out to the streets of Tirupati on Friday morning. In the evening, the deities were taken on ‘Gaja Vahanam’, resembling an elephant.

TTD Chief Vigilance and Security Officer KV Muralikrishna, Special Temple Officer D. Phanikumar Naidu and Superintendent KP Chandrasekhar were present.

At Srinivasa Mangapuram, the deity of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara was taken out in procession for ‘Hanumantha Vahanam’ on the sixth day of the annual festival. The deity was dressed as ‘Venkatadri Ramudu’ in the guise of Lord Rama, even as his faithful servant Hanuman carried the deity around the temple.

The depiction of Kalyana Venkateswara as Lord Rama and mounted on Hanuman portrays the importance of pure devotion and unwavering loyalty to the master for attaining salvation, the scriptures noted.

In the evening, the deity of Kalyana Venkateswara was offered on ‘Gaja Vahanam’.
