A moving car was completely destroyed after a fire broke out near Jagatha Bridge in the city on Friday.
According to the police, the incident happened while the vehicle was moving. The residents, a retired police officer identified as Radhakrishnan, a native of Ottasekharamangalam, and his wife noticed the sparks and immediately jumped out of the car. Their timely intervention helped them escape without injury.
The fire was brought under control by HZS workers, who stated that the cause of the fire was probably a short circuit in the battery.
