Legendary Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar said the Indian team is aware of the areas they need to improve and pointed out that the top-order remains a slight concern ahead of the high-octane clash against Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
“But what has happened is that India have understood the areas they need to strengthen. I think the top-order is one area that will worry them a bit. If Abhishek Sharma is not 100 per cent fit and Sanju Samson comes in, there is never any doubt about his ability. We have seen time and again that when Samson does well, he can destroy any attack,” Sunil Gavaskar told India Today India.
“But temperament has been his main problem and that’s where selection becomes important. So this is one area where India can be a bit worried. They need a good start in those first six overs and Samson could be a key player,” Gavaskar added.
