Devotees witnessed a grand spectacle at the TTD-run Srinivasa Mangapuram temple on Thursday as the idol of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara was carried in the ‘Mohini’ avatar in the morning and on ‘Garuda Vahanam’ in the evening.

The ‘Mohini’ avatar was observed on the fifth day of the nine-day annual festival, where the idol was dressed as a lady and paraded on an elaborately decorated stretcher, with the Sri Krishna idol accompanied by another bearer.

Devotees who gathered around the procession were mesmerized by the beauty of ‘Mohini’ carrying a parrot in her hand.

Meanwhile, the ‘Srivari Lakshmi Kasula Haram’ adorned with the Tirumala idol was taken out in a ‘sobha yatra’ from the TTD administration building to the temple. The antique ornament was adorned with the idol of Kalyana Venkateswara for the ‘Garuda Seva’ observed in the evening.

On the occasion, the TTD of the temple presented a six-leaf gold ‘Yagnopaveetam’ with 4kg ‘Mopu’ diamond, estimated to be worth ₹6.40 crore.

It was a spectacle for the devotees when the idol was introduced in a grand procession on the Garuda Vahanam that passed through the temple grounds in the evening. Meanwhile, the Bhashyakara Kainkarya Trust in Tiruninravur near Chennai handed over six ceremonial umbrellas used for the procession to the temple.

Trust founder Dinesh Kumar brought umbrellas and handed them over to TTD Additional Managing Director Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, in the presence of board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, joint managers V. Veerabrahmam and A. Sharath.
