HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao exuded confidence that it is the pink flag (BRS) that will fly in the upcoming municipal corporation elections in Hyderabad, irrespective of the number of civic bodies the GHMC is divided into, as the party has a strong base despite some MLAs defecting to the ruling party.
Welcoming S. Vijay Kumar Reddy from Serilingampally constituency along with supporters at a party meeting here on Thursday, Mr. Rao said the BRS will win the Hyderabad municipal elections whenever they are held. Though the Serilingampally MLA elected on a BRS ticket defected to the Congress, the cadre was intact with the BRS and the party would sweep 24 divisions in the Serilingampally constituency/zone.
He accused the Congress of coming to power by making false promises to the people and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not shown anything good to Telangana in the last 12 years it has been in power at the Centre. He said that law and order had deteriorated greatly in Hyderabad after the Congress party came to power.
The BRS chairman said the party would soon hold divisional meetings for municipal corporation elections in the city. He assured the party cadre that the leadership would always be there for them at any hour of need.
