Artificial intelligence (AI) should be seen as a tool to help people as it can never compete with human creativity or critical thinking, said K. Srinivas, Head, ICT and Project Management, National Institute of Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi.

Speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day workshop for teachers on “Integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence, Interactive Electronic Content and Modern Technologies in Higher Education” organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College on Saturday, Mr. Srinivas said that teachers must take the lead in preparing students for a fast-changing world.

He stressed that artificial intelligence does not pose any threat to the teaching profession. “Instead of spending a full 50 minutes on a traditional lecture, teachers should make their teaching more engaging by incorporating e-content, videos and audio clips into their lessons,” he said.

School Principal Meka Ramesh, Principal Vemuri Baburao, Dean Rajesh C. Jampala and IQAC Coordinator Babu Rajendra Prasad also spoke.
