Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stressed the need for the TDP-Jana Sena Party (JSP)-BJP alliance to last at least 15 years for Andhra Pradesh to have a stable government like Gujarat, while noting that the state would struggle to implement many programs without central assistance.
Addressing the NDA Legislature Party meeting in the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Naidu said there were no differences within the alliance, which he termed as a good sign, stressing that continued unity was a must for the development of the state.
He urged MLAs to build a reputation by doing the job expected of them, claiming public support for the alliance was stronger than before the 2024 election.
The state government has achieved some significant things in the last 20 months, notably the central assistance to the Amaravati and Polavaram projects and the support given to it in bailing out the Visakhapatnam steel plant. In addition, the government could provide Super Six social programs despite severe restrictions.
Mr. Naidu said the budget session of the legislature should be a meaningful exercise in which all MLCs and MLAs should actively participate and warned them against using abusive language in the House.
“Every member should be compulsorily present from 9 am to 1 pm and do their homework to highlight the problems faced by people in their constituencies. MLAs should own government schemes to implement them effectively,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan said that the state is heading for progress after successfully overcoming five years of destruction during the YSR Congress Party rule and advised the leaders to resolve the differences, if any, amicably as the alliance should be intact for a long time in the interest of the state. The spirit with which TDP, JSP and BJP worked before the 2024 elections should continue, he urged.
The meeting was attended by IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, BJP Floor Leader in Assembly P. Vishnu Kumar Raju and others.
