The Union Home Ministry on Wednesday issued new guidelines on India’s national song ‘Vande Mataram’, directing that a 6-sloka, 3-minute-10-second version of the song be played or sung on many different occasions.
The new guidelines require all persons to stand up when “Vande Mataram” is played and to be played just before the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana” at all government functions as well as in schools, Hindustan Times reported.
