India vs Pakistan won’t be a one-sided contest: Sahibzada Farhan sends warning

February 11, 2026

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has issued a warning ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 clash with India, saying the battle between the arch-rivals will not be a one-sided affair. India have had the upper hand over Pakistan in their recent battles, winning all three matches, including last year’s Asia Cup final. In the last 10 matches between the sides across all formats, India have won 8 matches, with Pakistan’s lone win coming in 2022 and one being no result.

Suryakumar Yadav suggested this during the Asia Cup last year India-Pakistan is no longer a rivalry and there were similar comments Tilak Varma spoke up and many former cricketers. However, Farhan suggested that Pakistan will turn up and fight during the match on Sunday, February 15 in Colombo. After the win over the USA, the editorial pointed to the 2025 Asia Cup final, which was a closer match between the two sides.

“I think the way we played in the last Asia Cup, we didn’t play one-sided. We played and fought till the end. We didn’t play a one-sided game till then and hopefully this time we will play a wonderful game against us,” Farhan said.

IND VS PAK AS A NORMAL MATCH

Farhan has an impressive record against India, scoring 155 runs in three matches with two fifties at an average of 51.67. During these performances, the Pakistani opener dealt well with Jasprit Bumrah along with the rest of the Indian bowling attack.

Still, Farhan said that he considers the match against India as normal and the team will play it accordingly.

“I think when you are running, you are confident. I am also very confident and the way the last two innings went, I am very confident. It is a normal match. We will play like a normal match. We will not put in our heads that it is an India-Pakistan match, it is a normal match and we will play it like a normal match,” Farhan said.

The Pakistan opener had earlier suggested that they would look at the game positive and aggressive cricket against India on Sunday.
