The Haryana government has transferred IPS officer Maqsood Ahmed, who is currently serving as Faridabad DCP (NIT), with immediate effect.
As per official orders, he was posted as SP, Police Headquarters, Panchkula.
His move comes close to the incident of the swing collapsed at the Surajkund Exhibition Grounds in Faridabad, in which an on-duty police inspector died and 12 others were injured during rescue operations. On Sunday, two people were arrested in connection with the incident, although the opposition blamed the tragedy on government negligence.
Besides the transfer orders of the IPS officer, the state government also transferred Suresh Kumar, an officer of the Haryana Police Service.
Mr. Kumar, currently DSP in 2nd Battalion, Indian Reserve Battalion, Nuh, has been transferred and posted as DSP in Hodal (Palwal), filling up the vacancy.
The transfer orders of both police officers were issued by the government on Monday (February 9).
