The Muvattupuzha police on Monday (February 9) arrested a man from Odisha for allegedly murdering a young colleague from the state.
Sarath Maharana (36) was arrested for allegedly stabbing Rakesh Behra (26) to death.
According to the police, a verbal altercation between employees of a plywood firm at Pezhakkappilly in Muvattupuzza led to the murder. The alleged incident took place on Sunday evening (February 8).
Though Behra was taken to a nearby hospital, from there he was referred to Kolenchery Medical College for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the medical school, police said.
