Surprise inspections by the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) in Hyderabad revealed three clinics allegedly run by unqualified doctors who administered steroids, painkillers, antibiotic injections and Schedule H drugs, raising serious concerns about patient safety.
The inspections, conducted in Saidabad and Singareni Colony on Friday, June 26, also found clinics providing allopathic treatment without the required qualifications or authorization.
According to TGMC, Srinivasa Medical & General Clinic, run by Srinivasa Chari, was found to be offering allopathic medical services without a recognized medical qualification. The Hanumanth Naik Clinic, run by Hanumanth Naik, also allegedly provided allopathic treatment without the necessary qualifications or permission. At the DRK clinic, officials discovered that her doctor, Dr. Ramesh, who holds a BAMS degree, practices modern medicine without a license.
The council said the use of steroids, antibiotics, painkillers and other Schedule H drugs by unqualified doctors posed a serious threat to public health and announced that strict action would be taken against those involved in illegal medical practice.
The TGMC further warned that action would continue against individuals displaying fake or unrecognized medical qualifications, as well as those providing services such as scans, EKGs and echocardiography without the necessary authorisation.
The council urged citizens to report suspected quacks through its WhatsApp helpline on 9154382727.
