Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao said that people across Telangana have now clearly realized “who is real and who is fake”, calling Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy a “real fake” for betraying the people by not keeping most of his pre-poll promises, barring a few.
Mr Harish Rao, who addressed more than a dozen street meetings in Sangareddy town on Sunday as part of the campaign for the municipal elections, said the stench from the Chief Minister’s mouth in the form of profanity and insults directed at political opponents was worse than the stench from the gutter. Responding to the Chief Minister’s remarks made in Bhupalapally, he declared that BRS would get every village in the combined Medak district.
He claimed that while the government had ₹40,000 crore available to pay contractors, it claimed that it did not have enough funds to pay employee dues, including bereavement allowance and other benefits, as well as welfare measures for the poor.
Mr. Harish Rao asked the people whether they should vote for those who cheated them or former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), who he said had fulfilled his promises. He said that people must decide whether to believe those who only made promises or those who actually delivered.
He remarked that insulting KCR or making personal remarks against BRS leaders will not benefit the poor and that only promise fulfillment will do that. He also warned the people against what he called false propaganda that funds would not be released unless they voted for the congress, saying that funds for municipalities (urban local bodies) were the right of the people and were allocated through the Finance Commission.
