A 23-year-old train passenger who got off the Mysuru-bound train at Kengeri station and left behind a backpack containing a laptop and other documents managed to get it back to Mysuru thanks to the swift intervention of the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Bhagyalakshmi, a native of Gadag, who was traveling to Yeshwanthpur, boarded train No. 16591 at Yeshwanthpur station to Kengeri on Friday. In a hurry to get off at Kengeri station, she forgot her backpack on the train and drove to her destination by car.

Realizing her mistake, she immediately lodged a complaint through Rail Madad, Indian Railways’ grievance redressal platform.

The complaint was received by Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable Vijender, who was on duty at the platform on Friday. He attended the complaint and quickly traced the backpack on the train, the RPF statement said.

The matter was brought to the RPF post at Mysuru and the concerned passenger was duly informed to collect her belongings.

After the identity of the complainant was verified by the Assistant Sub-Inspector, RPF, Mysuru, Mr. Prasim, the backpack containing the laptop and other documents, estimated to be worth ₹ 72,000, was handed over to Ms. Bhagyalakshmi after receiving confirmation from her, the statement said.
