
A three-day awareness program on ‘Cyber Security and Digital Literacy’ conducted by Government College for Women, Srikalahasti, covered cyber fraud, ethical use of digital services, cyber laws, statutory rights and crime reporting mechanism.
The event, organized under the soft component of Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), a Government of India sponsored scheme in line with the New Education Policy, aimed to sensitize students about online threats and equip them with skills for safe digital engagement, said Program Coordinator B. Durga Anuja.
Emphasizing the importance of the program to prepare students for the challenges of the digital age, College Principal B. Rajasekhar said the participants gained insight into major cyber threats in 2025, legal remedies, tips on securing personal devices, responsible use of social media, digital literacy in everyday life, identifying misinformation and fake news, safe online banking and e-commerce practices.
Resource Officers Syed Irfan Ali and Mohammed Abdul Farman of Black Buck Education chaired the session, with Event Coordinator A. Sumathi and IQAC Coordinator T. Malathi Gabriel participating.
