A drunk driver rammed his car into a restaurant in Bengaluru
In January, a drunk driver jumped a road divider and rammed his vehicle into the wall of a restaurant in Bengaluru. Passers-by near the business narrowly avoided being hit by a speeding vehicle, escaping by only a few centimeters.
The accident, which happened at Indiranagar locality, was caught on CCTV. The video has since gone viral across social media platforms.
According to the police report, the Skoda sedan was driven by 42-year-old Derrick Tony, who was speeding from 18th Main Road towards 100 Feet Road in Indiranagar area.
According to them, the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Tony reportedly failed to navigate a left turn, causing the vehicle to mount a bulkhead instead. The car hit the two-wheeler before crashing into the outside wall of the Barbeque Nation outlet, resulting in significant structural damage.
While a group of diners standing outside were unhurt, the motorcyclist, identified as Jabir Ahmed, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment. No casualties were recorded.
