Prices of five-star hotels in Delhi skyrocket amid India AI Impact Summit 2026 — Here’s what you need to know | Today’s news

The national capital Delhi is witnessing a skyrocketing rate in five-star hotels due to rising travel demand and higher occupancy rates during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, news agency PTI reported on Sunday, February 8.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit is scheduled to be held at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi between February 16 and 20, 2026, with thousands of delegates expected to arrive in the city for the event.

According to an agency report citing an official release, the India AI Impact Summit 2026 is expected to witness a strong impact from the global community, with more than 35,000 registrations received ahead of the event.

Five star hotels charge in Delhi

According to data compiled by the Economic Times news portal, a one-night stay at the Imperial Hotel in Delhi on February 16 will cost an individual. 197,049, along with an additional tax of Rs 35,469.

The report also showed that Hyatt Regency Delhi is almost billed 50,000 per night while Leela Palace Delhi charges 78,000 per night including taxes.

The data also showed that the Shangri-La Eros Hotel in Delhi is sold out on February 18, but an overnight stay on February 16 will cost 89,000 per night including taxes.

“We are expecting full occupancy on selected dates due to high demand for city events and AI Summit. We are almost sold out on February 19 and 20,” Vineet Kapoor, Hotel Manager, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, New Delhi, told the news portal.

“There is strong demand for all types of rooms, including suites. We will be hosting several international leaders and delegates during the summit,” Kapoor told the news portal.

Massive price hike

According to a PTI report, other five-star properties like Leela Palace, ITC Maurya and Taj Palace are offering their rooms at moderate rates during peak season.

The agency report also said that the India AI Impact Summit 2026 will be attended by people from more than 100 countries, including 15 to 20 heads of government, more than 50 ministers from various countries and more than 40 leading global and Indian companies.

Davinder Juj, CEO of Eros Hotel, New Delhi, told a news portal that prices increased by nearly 30-50% during the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit compared to other dates in February 2026.

“Business in December and January was a little weaker than expected. Growth in sales per available room was not up to the level of some other markets,” Juj said. “We are adjusting our strategies to increase revenue in the coming months,” he told the news agency.
