
University Vice-Chancellor SDM Niranjan Kumar was addressing the inaugural function of a capacity building workshop for nurses in Dharwad on Saturday.
SDM University Vice-Chancellor Niranjan Kumar urged nurses to keep updating their knowledge by asking questions and seeking answers.
He inaugurated a one-day workshop on ‘Capacity Building in Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illnesses (IMNCI)’ at SDM Nursing College, Dharwad on Saturday and highlighted the crucial role of trained nurses in newborn and child care.
He emphasized that nurses play an important role in gently counseling parents of premature babies and emphasized that close observation during the neonatal stage is critical to the survival and well-being of infants.
Rangappa Ashi, Vice Principal, SDM Nursing College, in his keynote address highlighted the importance of IMNCI in reducing neonatal and child morbidity and mortality.
Managing Director Padmalatha Niranjan, Professor of Community Medicine Umesh Dixit, Director Prasanna Deshpande, Finance Officer VG Prabhu and others were present.
