KARIMNAGAR
Union Home Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the Congress of “offering the post of Mayor of Karimnagar to the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) as part of ‘behind the scenes’.”
Continuing his tirade against the ruling party at a street corner meeting in Karimnagar on Friday, Mr. Sanjay said, “Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stayed away from Karimnagar during his visit to the district on Thursday as he was aware of the imminent defeat of the Congress party in the February 11 Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections.
He also slammed BRS leader former MP B. Vinod Kumar and Karimnagar MLA G. Kamalakar for “falsely claiming credit” for the ₹1,500 crore central funds he had brought in for KMC’s development so far. Besides, central funds of ₹50 crore have already been sanctioned for the KMC, he added.
He alleged that several BRS corporators were arrested for encroaching on land meant for the poor. “We must not let these land grabbers win,” he said.
