Prasanth Ezhavan, who directed the film Oru Jaathi Pillerishta, has been selected for the first PK Rosy Film Award, established by the PK Rosy Foundation to commemorate the first female actress in Malayalam cinema.
The film is set against the backdrop of reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and its impact on Dalit and Other Backward Classes students. The jury noted that the director used the medium as a tool for social transformation.
