Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) through three different operations on Friday removed several illegal structures and encroachments in Borabanda, Dulapally and Nagaram.
At Dulapally village in Dundigal-Gandimaisamma mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, HYDRAA forces pulled down structures from the full tank level (FTL) of the Sumaru Kunta water body.
Several facilities including hotels, scrap yards, container assembly units and welding shops have been set up in temporary structures inside the FTL lake in the name of patta land, reducing the extent of the water body. 11 acres of FTL have been released through Operation HYDRAA, the statement informed, clarifying that patta land in FTL can only be used for agriculture when the water recedes.
In Borabanda, HYDRAA officials cleared encroachments from 3.2 acres of government land that was acquired under the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1976. A case was filed at Borabanda police station against alleged attacker Sharif Khan for trying to seize 3,600 square meters of documents using fake yards. HYDRAA removed the temporary structures along with the sand and brick units from the site.
At Ramakrishna Nagar colony in Nagaram village of Keesara mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, HYDRAA has reclaimed 1,365 square yards of land allotted to the temple. While the temple was built on 400 square yards, several local residents sought to usurp the remaining land, the statement said, informing that HYDRAA had erected signboards indicating that the land belonged to the temple.
