The administrative order brought long-awaited relief to 226 families in Gunjepalli village of Mudigubba mandal, ending a 15-year-old land issue that had crippled property rights and housing plans. A total of 13.59 acres of land in survey numbers 907 and 908, which had remained on the restricted list for more than a decade, has now been officially cleared.
Talking to the media here on Friday (February 6, 2026), Finance Division Officer (RDO-Dharmavaram) Alakatoor Mahesh said the extended ban has prevented residents from registering their properties, constructing houses or taking bank loans, leaving hundreds of families in legal and financial limbo. Acting on the villagers’ input, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav intervened and ordered the district administration to look into the matter.
Meanwhile, District Collector A. Shyam Prasad said the necessary legal and administrative procedures have been completed and orders have been issued to remove the land from the list of restricted areas. Officials said the decision provides a permanent resolution to a long-standing grievance and restores legal property rights to affected families.
With restrictions lifted, residents can now continue to register properties, secure housing loans and carry out construction activities. The move is expected to significantly improve living conditions and economic stability in the village, officials said.
