The Union Ministry of Tourism has approved four projects in Telangana under the PRASHAD scheme with a total outlay of ₹ 146.50 crore, the Rajya Sabha was informed on February 5. The information was disclosed by Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in response to a question raised by MP Anil Kumar Yadav Yadav.
According to the reply, the projects have been approved under the center’s Pilgrimage and Spiritual, Cultural Heritage (PRASHAD) Rejuvenation Program, which aims to strengthen tourism infrastructure at key pilgrimage and cultural destinations across the country.
According to the reply, the construction of Jogulamba Devi Temple at Alampur, sanctioned in 2020-21 at a cost of ₹ 38.90 crores, has been completed. Out of the sanctioned amount, ₹ 33.07 crore has been released so far.
Development of pilgrimage and tourism infrastructure at Rudreshwara Temple, popularly known as Ramappa Temple in Mulugu district, has been approved for 2022-23 with an allocation of ₹62 crore. An amount of ₹ 32.73 crore has been released and the project is currently underway.
Another project, aimed at developing pilgrimage infrastructure at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, has also been approved in 2022-23 with an approved cost of ₹ 41.38 crore. ₹ 8.43 crore has been released so far and the work is still in progress.
The fourth project is for development of basic amenities at Goddess Renuka Yellamma Devasthanam, sanctioned in 2024-25 at a cost of ₹ 4.22 crore. No funds have been released yet and the project is listed as ongoing.
