Applications for Ugadi and Kalaratna Awards

The State Committee for Creativity and Culture on Wednesday (February 4) announced that during the upcoming Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsara Ugadi celebrations to be held on March 19, eminent personalities from various fields will be felicitated with ‘Ugadi’ and ‘Kalaratna’ awards.

According to the director general of the committee R. Mallikharjuna Rao, applications are invited from experts in literature, music, dance, painting, sculpture, drama, folk art, mime, avadhanam (memory arts), medicine, magic and silent performances, Harikatha and Burrakatha (narrative art), journalism, social services and other fields of service recommended by the committee. Individuals who have previously received the Central Award or the Ugadi/Kalaratna State Award will not be considered.

Interested applicants may submit their personal details to the Director General, State Board of Creativity and Culture, Second Floor, Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College, Durgapuram, Vijayawada or by email at apculture.ugadi2026@gmail.com by February 20, he said.
