The Chairman and members of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights visited the Bharosa Center in Hyderabad on Tuesday to review its functioning and the services provided to children and women victims of sexual offences. During the visit, the team worked with staff and assessed the integrated victim-centred support system offered at the one-stop centre.
Officials were briefed on Bharosa’s objectives and operations. They also visited the Children’s Court to review the procedures followed for minors. A presentation by the Women Safety Wing highlighted that Hyderabad secured 38 convictions in cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) last year, among the highest in the country.
SCPCR Chairman appreciated the infrastructure, systematic functioning and impact of Bharosa Center and ensured continued support including annual evaluation.
