Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced that LPG cylinders will be provided free to households with valid ration cards on Holi and Diwali festivals.
In a meeting chaired by Gupta, the Delhi Cabinet decided to transfer ₹853, the cost of an LPG cylinder, directly to eligible beneficiaries through the direct benefit transfer system.
This benefit will also be extended to eligible ration card holders using Pipeline Natural Gas (PNG), she said at the briefing.
Eligible beneficiaries will have the amount credited to their bank accounts before Holi.
The government allocated ₹242 crore for this gas cylinder scheme, the Chief Minister added.
