
Delhi Weather Today: Residents of Delhi woke up to low visibility on Tuesday morning as dense fog enveloped the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange and red alert for parts of Delhi.
In its current warning till 9:33 am, the IMD said: “Very dense fog very likely over parts of South East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahadra, Central Delhi, North East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, North Delhi.”
Apart from this red warning, an orange warning was issued for several other places: “Dense fog very likely over parts of South East Delhi, Central Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, North Delhi.”
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport recorded a visibility of 100 meters at 7:00 a.m., due to which operations were initiated under CAT III conditions. Delhi Airport warned of possible delays in its passenger advisory posted on X, saying: “Due to dense fog, flight operations are currently under CAT I1| conditions, which may cause delays. Passengers are requested to contact their respective airlines for the latest flight information or visit our official website.”
In its travel advisory, SpiceJet said, “Due to inclement weather at Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their onward flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to check their flight status via http://spicejet.com/#status.”
IndiGo also issued a travel advisory as it warned of an impact on flight schedules. “Low visibility and fog over #Delhi may affect flight schedules. We are monitoring the weather closely and doing everything we can to get you where you need to go safely and smoothly. We request that you stay updated on your flight status through our website or app. Rest assured that our teams are here to help you every step of the way and provide full support,” the advisory said.

The Met Office issued a yellow dense fog warning in its weather bulletin for February 2, forecasting: “Partly cloudy skies. Shallow to moderate fog in many places with dense fog in isolated places during the morning hours.”
According to a press release, the maximum temperature over Delhi is likely to settle in the range of 20 to 22 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover somewhere between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperature over Delhi will be close to normal and maximum temperatures will be below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C), the IMD said.
