The Indian Red Cross Society Cancer Hospital will celebrate its Silver Jubilee on Wednesday (February 4, 2026), marking 25 years of service in detection, treatment and patient care. The celebration will be held at the hospital premises on Podalakur Road in Nellore.

Founded in 2001 by renowned philanthropist Jakka Srinivasulu Reddy (JS Reddy), the hospital began as a cancer detection center with a vision to serve the socially weak. It is characterized by specialized wings including radiation and surgical oncology.

The facility with 105 approved beds provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. Almost 90 percent of patients receive treatment under the Dr. AP Government’s NTR Vaidya Seva, which removes financial barriers and ensures accessibility of healthcare to the poor.

The Silver Jubilee celebration coincides with World Cancer Day and highlights the global commitment to cancer awareness, prevention and treatment. This underlines the hospital’s compliance with international health care goals and its contribution to the global fight against cancer.
