Jeffrey Epstein’s newly released files reveal that the former Prince Andrew asked the disgraced financier for more information about a young Russian woman who Epstein said he would introduce to kings, according to The New York Post.
In the August 2010 emails, Epstein offered to introduce Andrew to “Irina,” described as a “beautiful” 26-year-old Russian woman. This came just two years after Epstein was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution.
“I have a friend you could enjoy dinner with, her name is Irina, she will be 20-24 in London,” Epstein wrote in an email to an account believed to belong to Andrew, referred to as “Duke,” according to the news report.
Prince Andrew’s reply
Andrew replied on August 12, 2010:
“Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of the 22nd, but I should like to see her. Will she bring word from you?”
In a follow-up email, Andrew asked:
“Great. Any other information you might know about her that might be useful?”
He signed off under his full title at the time: “HRH The Duke of York KG” (The New York Post).
“She’s 26, russian, smart (sic) beautiful, trustworthy and yes she has your email (sic).”
“That was fast! How are you? Is it nice to be free?” — an apparent reference to the recent Epstein conviction
Andrew’s position
The former Prince Andrew previously claimed to have cut all ties with Epstein in 2006 and claimed to have reconnected only briefly in late 2010 to formally end the friendship. He has repeatedly denied all allegations of sexual abuse.
