Bengaluru Police has formed a six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the death of CJ Roy, founder and chairman of Confident Group and Honorary Solicitor of the Slovak Republic, who allegedly shot himself dead during an Income Tax raid at his office on Friday.
The team will be led by C. Vamsi Krishna, Joint Commissioner of Police, West Zone.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh on Saturday (January 31, 2026) ordered the formation of a team, citing the complexity of the case.
While Mr. Krishna will oversee the investigation, Lokesh B. Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South Division, has been appointed as the Principal Investigating Officer. He will be assisted by Akshay Hakay Machhindra, DCP, Central Division. The team also includes Sudhir, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Halasur Gate Sub-Division; Ramachandra, ACP, CCRB; and Ravi KB, Inspector, Ashoknagar.
Further, the SIT has the power to co-opt officers as required from the jurisdiction or other units for the purpose of investigation, with prior permission from Mr. Krishna.
