
The budget session of the Andhra Pradesh legislature will begin on February 11. Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has convened the fifth session of the 16th Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh to begin at 10 am.
The session will begin with the governor’s address to a joint session of the Legislature and Legislative Council on February 11 at 10 a.m. On February 12, members will present a motion of thanks for the governor’s address. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will respond to the proposal on February 13 and outline the government’s priorities and plan.
The budget for the financial year 2026-2027 will be presented in the Assembly on February 14 by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav. This will be followed by the presentation of the agriculture budget by Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu. Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu is also expected to present the budget for her department.
According to the official notification issued under Article 174(1) of the Constitution of India, the Governor exercised his constitutional power to convene the session. The order was issued through GOMs. No. 3 by the Legislative Assembly of Legn. Secretariat and will be published in Part II of the Special Edition of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 30 January 2026. The meeting is expected to discuss key legislative matters and other important matters concerning the state.
